Aiming for Accuracy Part 6

Binary explosives are a ton of fun to shoot:

This video captures my first test day when I was looking to see how the explosives worked. Unfortunately I had a couple of FAILS that day. Hopefully you can learn from my mistakes. The video finishes off with my second day of explosive shooting fun!

.50BMG

I didn’t think I was going to shoot one of these anytime soon, the cost is a little more than I would normally want to pay. But due to some insider connections I had the pleasure of shooting a 50 caliber rifle on the cheap.

Barret

I was a little suprised as you may expect. Firstly, Barret does an amazing job of cleaning up the recoil. The Fancy recoil reduction springs combined with that enormous muzzle brake made this single shot rifle feel like it had less recoil than my .308WIN. I took a total of three shot and was completely amazed at how gentle the rifle is to shoot, a total pleasure. That said, the massive muzzle brake is pointed backwards and sends a ton of the blast right back at you, which hits you solidly in the face. Every shot fired gives you a shock wave smack in the face which is quite the experience.

I was a little disappointed that they only had a 4x red dot mounted to the rifle and the mount was shady. Thus the zero was off. We tried to correct, but an indoor range only has 25 meters to play with so it was kind of a waste of bullets from that perspective. I did not get the epic shot I was tying for, which will be in one of my Aiming for Accuracy videos in the future.

We then finished off the night shooting various rental rifles and pistols which again…is always a ton of fun.

Holiday Cheer

Hope your Holidays are Merry…

I decided to try and bring a little joy and perhaps some laughter to the holiday season with my take on Charlie Browns Christmas of depression. I hope you have as much fun watching this as I had making it. Merry Christmas to all, and to all, a good night.

Music: A Charlie Brown Christmas opening song

Disclaimer: I have nothing personal against my fellow Canadian Justin Bieber, I’m sure he’s a great guy. The only reason I put that CD case into the video is because I was gifted it at my company Christmas party as a gag…so to speak.

We do a random gift exchange where you pick a present from the random pile and open it, one person at a time. If someone opens a gift and you like it, when your turn comes up you give them your random un-opened gift in exchange for the nice thing they have and they MUST accept.

Well I had a mighty fine bottle of wine that someone else liked. So they traded me my fine bottle of wine for their un-opened present, which turned out to be the JB Christmas CD. There was no way I was going to have someone else trade with me again, so I was stuck.

This just seemed like the best way to hear what sounds that CD was capable of making, and I must say…I really like the sound that Justin Bieber Christmas special CD made!
