Temperature Variations

What a fun morning in the pool. Something was wrong with the heating system and half of the jets were not working. Jumping into the shallow end I was met with some really cold water. No problem, I’m here to work out and cold water training is a good thing. As I approach the half way point I can feel the water heating up. By the time I make it to the deep end of the pool it feels like I am in a hot tub. The temperature variation from end to end of the pool was remarkable. It made for a very interesting first 500 meters going from cold to warm to cold again. My cadence was definitely being affected by the loss of concentration. By the time I started my third 500 meter set, the activity in the pool had helped to mix up the water and create a more even temperature.
